When people are asked what they know about Bryson, the usual response is: “The bin lorries?”. But Bryson is so much more than rubbish collection.

Founded in Belfast in 1906, Bryson Charitable Group’s commitment is to make the ‘Greatest Difference to the Greatest Need’ across Northern Ireland and beyond. And the charity is doing so thanks to the work of its 1,400-strong team who collectively support over 70,000 people in disadvantaged areas through its bespoke services – Bryson Care, Bryson Pathways and Bryson Recycling (hence the bin lorry connection).

Bryson Group recently embarked on an ambitious growth plan and has been reshaping and refocusing its delivery model to best position itself for the challenges and opportunities ahead. Morrows has been supporting the charity’s growth by driving awareness and understanding of the Group’s purpose and approach. The goal is to help Bryson foster support among key stakeholders, drive its core funding streams, ultimately enabling more on the ground delivery.

We began working with the Group on an audit and review basis to inform the development of a new strategic communications plan and structure that would support its wider ambitions. This included a review of its digital channels, a brand refresh and the development of a suite of websites which bring clarity and focus to its three specialist areas.

Alongside this we have delivered media and stakeholder engagement training across the senior team to ensure they are both equipped and empowered to represent Bryson and, at a practical level, are confident and on message when talking to those how matter most.

We also support the organisation through media management both on a reactive and proactive basis, advising on when and how to best engage. This includes drafting news releases and statements and acting as its first port of call when it comes to handling any media queries.
