STEM In Action

Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects are at the root of a successful knowledge economy and Northern Ireland has ambitious aspirations in this regard. Sentinus is a not-for-profit educational charity providing a wide range of programmes to over 60,000 students in Northern Ireland to give them exciting and rewarding experiences in STEM and inspire them to consider future careers in these fields.

For over 10 years we have helped Sentinus deliver a proactive media relations campaign to demonstrate Sentinus’ role and remit, publicise the Young Innovators Exhibition (YIE) as Sentinus’ flagship event, raise awareness of the specific programmes delivered by Sentinus and promote the study of STEM subjects in schools. We have used a communications mix that includes media and stakeholder relations, creative photography and targeted media features highlighting the importance of STEM subjects in the context of Northern Ireland’s future economic prosperity.

As a charity, Sentinus relies heavily on government and private sector funding. To support its work we have also delivered a programme of political and stakeholder engagement to help build advocates and support for continued funding.

Our work has been recognised in the CIPR Pride Awards picking up Gold as the best ‘not for profit’ campaign.
