Things got very heated at our annual company strategy day recently as it played host to the first ‘Great Morrows’ Bake Off’ – held in the Forestside Cookery School. Following a very successful business planning session in the fabulous Mencap Centre in Newtownbreda, our teams were set the challenge to bake a Victoria sponge cake, 12 fruit scones and 12 glazed fruit tarts all in the space of 2 hours.
Needless to say, while the competition was fierce, the standard of baking was mixed to say the least. The ‘Star Bakers’ who rose to the occasion were ‘The Filthy Flapjacks’ made up of Sarah, Emily and Nicola, while those at the soggy bottom were ‘The Pancake Tossers’ – Fiona, Sonia and Jacinta.
