September 2008 - March 2009
The Brief
In the reality of a rapidly changing global economic climate, small privately owned companies are faced with challenging times and to offer support to these businesses the ‘Credit Crunch – Maximising Opportunities’ initiative was developed by the Business Improvement Services Division of Invest Northern Ireland.
A series of ten breakfast seminars were held between September 2008 – March 2009 covering regionally focussed areas in Invest NI’s remit – Belfast x 3, Armagh, Derry, Newry, Enniskillen, Omagh, Cookstown, Ballymena. The aim of the seminars was to offer expert advice from local businesses, accountants and Invest NI regional offices, as well as providing tailor made diagnostic support directly into local businesses from external resources such as solicitors, lawyers, accountants, consultants.
The Event
Morrow Communications were tasked with planning, co-ordinating and staffing these events in 10 different venues across Northern Ireland. The main challenge was to find a venue each time that could accommodate the specific layout required – a group session with set/staging and audio visual equipment and 4 large breakout rooms to hold interviews.
The success of these events relied heavily upon tight administration procedures and that’s where our organisational skills came to the fore when we co-ordinated arrangements for over 30 facilitators and around 150 delegates at each event.
The Results
The original brief was to only host 2 events of this kind, and due their popularity and success a further 8 events took place. Over 1000 delegates attended and most of which have already reaped benefits of the tailor made support received. Morrow Communications extensive knowledge of venues across Northern Ireland as well as our unparalleled organisational skills ensured these events were delivered seamlessly and professionally.
