Ulster Orchestra Ruby Gala Celebrations

2006, Ulster Hall, Belfast

The Brief

Morrow Communications were delighted to support the Ulster Orchestra’s 40th Anniversary by providing full event management services for their gala fundraising evening. To mark this prestigious occasion a night of fabulous entertainment was planned both to celebrate the landmark anniversary and to raise much needed funds for the charity.

The Event

Belfast’s Ulster Hall was the chosen venue for the evening. We immediately set to work in giving this stunning setting a Viennese make over, providing creative input on the backdrop, dressing and table centres. We also offered practical advice on all aspects of menu selection, food service, running order and format. We used our network of contacts to secure the services of BBC journalist Declan Curry as MC and Wilson’s Auctions Daniel Clarke as guest auctioneer. On the evening itself, we managed the charity auction and other fundraising activities.

The Results

The evening was a resounding success, raising more than £32,000 for the Orchestra’s Education & Outreach programme and elevating the Ulster Orchestra to a new corporate level.

“A big thank you to you and all the team for all your energy, professionalism and enthusiasm in the lead up to and on the evening of the Ruby Gala. It was a wonderful evening - we definitely achieved that ‘wow’ factor we were hoping for!”

Mary Trainor, Head of Marketing & Development, Ulster Orchestra

“On behalf of everyone here at the Ulster Orchestra I would like to say a big thank you for all your help with the Ruby Gala. The night was a tremendous success. The hall looked absolutely fabulous and everyone commented on the smooth running of the evening. Thank you so much for your expert planning.

I do hope we will be able to work together again soon and I know Mary and Orla will keep in touch."

David Byers, Chief Executive, Ulster Orchestra
