The Brief
The Department for Employment & Learning (DEL) are the key driver of the UK-wide Vocational Qualifications Reform programme (VQRP) which will be enforced in Northern Ireland over the next 2 years. The programme will introduce significant changes to the vocational qualifications system, focussing more on employer needs, flexibility and choice; developing a more skilled & productive workforve and supporting greater social justice and opportunity.
The conference was aimed at raising awareness, communicating key messages involving a broad range of stakeholders from the outset of the VQRP. Morrow Communications were engaged to support DEL in the delivery and implementation of this important conference.
The Event
Working on a tight budget, Morrows worked closely with the DEL Communications team to programme a succinct and beneficial conference that would provide a platform for discussion of key issues surrounding the VQRP. Delegates heard from Sir Reg Empey, Minister for Employment & Learning and the Alliance of Sector Skills Councils in the morning and participated in focussed workshops in the afternoon. Morrows were responsible for all arrangements including delegate registration, venue, catering, exhibitors, workshops, audio visual and staging.
The Result
Over 175 delegates attended the full day conference in the Stormont Hotel each with a personalised workshop itinerary which Morrows had co-ordinated. Feedback from DEL highlighted that the conference was very professionally organised and very beneficial to all delegates.
